Tienda Ramírez: MEDALLA DE LA FUNDACIÓN ANDRÉS SEGOVIA//MEDAL FROM THE ANDRÉS SEGOVIA FOUNDATION

El pasado viernes dia 7 de noviembre, tuve el honor de recibir la Medalla de la Fundación Andrés Segovia, en nombre de mi tío bisabuelo Manuel Ramírez, de mi padre José Ramírez III y de mi hermano José Ramírez IV, por el honor que ha sido para ellos, y para todos nosotros, que Andrés Segovia haya utilizado y apreciado las guitarras por ellos construidas. Mi sobrinos Cristina y José Enrique Ramírez, estuvieron acompañándome en este acto representando el futuro de nuestra guitarrería como quinta generación.

Una vez más, Don Alberto López Poveda, tuvo la capacidad de asombrarme con su energía y esa voluntad suya, inquebrantable, de hacer las cosas bien, porque las hace desde el corazón.... ¿cómo si no podría ser de otra forma?. Así que, a sus 99 años, se subió al escenario para hablar de mi familia, uno por uno, como preámbulo para la entrega de la medalla. Fue para mí conmovedor ese homenaje, especialmente viniendo de una persona a la que admiro por su integridad, su generosidad, y su profunda lealtad hacia su amigo Andrés Segovia.

Last Friday, November 7^th, I had the honor of receiving Andrés Segovia’s Foundation Medal on behalf of my great-granduncle Manuel Ramírez, my father José Ramírez III and my brother José Ramírez IV for the honor it has been for them, as well as for all of us, that Andrés Segovia has been using and valuing the guitars they have been constructing. My nephews Cristina and José Enrique Ramírez came with me to this event representing the future of our guitarrería as its fifth generation.

One more time, Mr Alberto López Poveda, was able to astonish me with his energy and his unbreakable will for doing things well, because he makes them with his heart…How could it be any other way? So, aged 99, he walked the stage to talk about my family, one by one, as a preamble of the medal ceremony. This tribute was really moving for me, especially as it came from someone I admire because of his integrity, generosity and his profound loyalty to his friend Andrés Segovia.
